Your Medical Lake, WA dental team

Tawana McShane - Finance Manager

Tawana has worked in the dental field for the last 18 years and we are extremely grateful to have someone so knowledgeable here to help serve our patients. Tawana was born in Haleyville, Alabama but has spent the last 38 years in Eastern Washington. She and her husband Tim, who was active-duty Air Force stationed at Fairchild, chose Medical Lake as home and have raised their two boys here in this beautiful small town.

Their oldest son Jared is active duty Air Force stationed in Germany and their youngest son Nathan recently attended WSU, Go Cougs!

In her spare time, Tawana enjoys watching Alabama football, spending time outdoors, especially during the hot summer months, boating, and hiking.

Samantha Hollister - Hygiene Coordinator

Samantha joined our team in December 2023 and is a wonderful addition to our team. Samantha’s favorite part of her job is the opportunity to connect with patients, providing a wonderful patient experience while at the dental office, and making sure our patients are served as best possible. Samantha and her family recently relocated to the area from Florida as her husband is stationed at Fairchiled Air Force Base. In her free time, Samantha enjoys playing with her two kids and painting.

Robin Wilkey - Dental Hygienist

Robin started her dental career in 2015 as a certified dental assistant at a pediatric dental office in Panama City, Florida. In 2019, she graduated from dental hygiene school from Gulf Coast State College. She was born and raised in New Jersey and has moved all over the country as a military wife. Her husband Matt, a Tennessee native, serves in the Air Force and they have two daughters. They moved to Spokane from Florida in July 2021. Robin has a passion for providing quality dental care to her patients and especially loves working with children. She believes it is imperative to create good dental habits at a young age to build a strong foundation, one that can help them maintain excellent dental health that will last them a lifetime. When she’s not saving the world one tooth at a time, Robin loves to be outdoors with her family. They love to kayak, fish, mountain bike, hike, and explore national parks together.

Morgan Zarowny - Dental Hygienist

Morgan was born and raised in the Spokane. She graduated in 2007 with her degree in Psychology. She then went back to school and graduated in 2012 from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene. She loves building relationships with her patients and creating a comfortable and pain-free visit for them. She has a 9 year old son, Zeke, and two dogs at home. They love to spend their free time at the river or in town with friends and family! She also enjoys DIY home projects, road trips, and checking out restaurants around Spokane!

Tabitha Shots – Dental Hygienist

Tabitha was born and raised on her family’s farm in Ridgefield, WA. Growing up, Tabitha was very competitive in athletics, including: basketball, track and field, and tennis (her boys are following in her footsteps). She knew she wanted to be a Dental Hygienist since the age 16, and help people love their smile. With this passion in mind, Tabitha went off to college, earning a degree in Criminal Justice AND Dental Hygiene. After serving two enlistments in the Air Force, she returned to the dental field as a Dental Hygienist. Tabitha loves to help patients achieve the smile they desire and optimum oral health goals.

Tabitha has two boys, Steven (14) and Dylan (11), and is married to Christopher, an underground miner. Her family loves to travel and explore National Parks, as she collects stamps in their National Park book. Her family is very active in sports, hiking, paddle boarding, and pretty much anything outdoors.

Monica Betts - Dental Assistant

Meet Monica Betts: our rock star of a dental assistant! Monica graduated from Spokane Community College in 2009 and has worked extensively with kids and adults as a dental assistant. She moved to Medical Lake when her Dad was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base and went on to graduate from Medical Lake High School. Go Cards!!

Monica is married to David Betts and they have two amazing kids, Cooper (9) and Jackson (7). In her spare time, Monica enjoys camping, crafts, and DIY projects!

Courtney Daniels - Dental Assistant

Courtney grew up as a military dependent, so she moved around a lot before settling in Medical Lake. She graduated from Medical Lake High School (Go Cards!). During her time at MLHS she met her high school sweetheart, now husband, John. She graduated from Spokane Community College in 2013 and began her career as a dental assistant. Courtney loves every minute of assisting, it’s fun, and she’s good at what she does. She also cherishes the fact that although patients don’t always look forward to coming to the dentist, that they always end up leaving with a smile on their face and a appreciate the good experience while here.

During her free time, Courtney loves spending time at the lake with her two beautiful daughters (Regan and Reese), family, and friends. She also enjoys being outdoors, going to concerts, and visiting new places.

Heather Baker - Dental Assistant

Heather was born in Orlando, FL, lived in Rhode Island for five years and then moved to Washington in 1992. She relocated to Spokane in 2002 after graduating high school in Snohomish, WA. Heather currently lives in Medical Lake and has three beautiful children. Heather’s family also consists of lots of furry critters, including four dogs and one too many cats to count! In her spare time, she loves to travel, read books, watch movies with her kids, and lift heavy things!

Heather does a fantastic job connecting with patients to better understand their chief dental concerns, assisting Dr. Burton in conveying what smile enhancement procedures may be best suited for the patient, and highlighting the various benefits that smiling with confidence gives you.

Jonathan Burton, MBA - Director of Operations

Jonathan brings his background in engineering and business administration to build, develop, and enhance our practice. Practicing engineering, managing teams, and solving complex problems has enabled Jonathan to acquire many skills that he now brings to our office. Jonathan has also been selected to serve on the board with West Plains Chamber of Commerce!

He’s inspired by the ability to create lasting relationships and make an immediate impact on patients through dentistry. Improving patients' smiles and confidence - and having them grinning ear-to-ear following a visit to our office - is immediate feedback on our work. This type of interaction is something that Jonathan finds very rewarding.

As a weekend warrior, Jonathan takes advantage of each outdoor season, and loves to hunt, ski, climb mountains, get out on the water by any means necessary, and play with his kids.
